Rotarians,

Last week we had a great turnout for and participation in our Club Assembly.  As I wandered (somewhat aimlessly) around the room, I heard great conversations about how we can make our club better and more attractive to both current and future Rotarians. There are a few changes that have been proposed that the board will c onsider at this week's board meeting.   The Golf Committee began planning for next year's tournament.  What's unique and challenging about planning next year's tournament is we are combining our annual tournament with the District 5710 Conference being held in Manhattan next spring.   It is a great opportunity to feature not only the city of Manhattan and Colbert Hills Golf Course, but it's also a great opportunity for our club to contribute significantly to the success of the District 5710 Conference.  I noticed spirited discussion from the Yellow Tag Committee and I'm anxious to hear their feedback.  No doubt, much good work was accomplished thanks to all those who were present and participated.  It's just another example of why our club has existed for almost 100 years.

In the past 2 weeks, the Orientation Team has met with 4 new members we will have the pleasure of formally introducing in the coming weeks.  Please reach out to these newest members, introduce yourself and make them feel welcome.  And don't forget, if you have an area of service you need assistance with, please invite them to get involved!  Remember when bringing a prospective member to our meeting as your guest, the board has budgeted funds to buy your guest's lunch if you wish to take advantage of that.

This week we will hear from Phil Mattox, President of the Association of US Army (AUSA).  Phil is the newly elected President of AUSA and will bring us an informative update.  I hope to see you tomorrow for lunch!
