My Fellow Rotarian;

Boy, you miss one week and hear about it!  I guess I should be pleased that you all do take the time to look at this.

I want to again remind you of the club’s goals each Rotary year for each member to give $100 every year to the Rotary International Foundation.  We need 98 members to give $100 before June 1^st.  I realize we are all pulled in different directions when it comes to charities so anything you give will be most appreciated and it counts towards being a Paul Harris fellow.

At our meeting last week we welcomed our students of the month and our guest speaker, Major General Lee Tafanilli of the Kansas National Guard.  He was introduced by John Armburst.  MG Lee Tafanilli spoke on the duties our Guard does not only here in Kansas but throughout the world on deployments.  Don’t forget that you can always log on to our website to view meetings you might have missed.

Last week President Elect Scott Emley attended the President Elect Training Session (PETS) actually held here in Manhattan.  Scott is already actively working on next Rotary year’s budget and goals for his year.  I also want to give a shout out to Vernon Turner who also was in attendance as he was assisting in the event.

This week our guest speaker will be Senator Moran.  This will be a meeting to make if you can as he gives us his legislative updates from Washington D.C.
