Weekly Updates from President Wertzberger

Good Afternoon!  I am back from warm and sunny Cancun Mexico to witness the  beautiful wedding of my 3 rd son Joe and now daughter in law Corrina.  It was wonderful but oh my has it been tough to acclimate myself back to Kansas weather.  I went from sand between my toes to a snow shovel in my hand!

 

As many of you know, I was back for our meeting on February 6th but I was still de-compressing from my trip so no newsletter  last week.

 

Speaking of last week’s meeting it was my honor to introduce Vern Henricks as our newest Paul Harris fellow.   Vern has been active in Rotary since he first joined.  Congratulations to Vern!

 

Also it was great to introduce Dean John Buckwalter as a new Rotarian.  He was introduced by former Dean Virginia  Moxley. 

 

Special thanks to Rotarian Tom Giller for hosting and introducing our guest speaker last week, Head Baseball Coach Brad Hill at K-State.  First home game is a month away so this snow better start melting!

 

This Thursday we will hear from the Director of Shepherds Crossing for an update on their services.   Coincidently, the cup money for this month is for Shepherds Crossing AND 3 Rotarians of our club have promised to match the donations received!  Thank you so much and let’s try and get deep in their pockets!

 

I also want to give you a heads up that our February 20th meeting will be a club assembly.  This will give the various committees a chance to meet and review where they are at and what needs to be done for the remainder of this Rotarian year and perhaps a little preplanning for next year.   Our first one last fall was a great success and we continue to build off of the works of many of you.
