ROTARIANS REACH OUT TO THEIR NEIGHBORS TO LEND A HAND
Dear Rotarians,
Many of you have asked me how D5710 can help out with relief efforts in Joplin, MO or Reading, KS. Kelly Wolfert, a young Rotarian out of The Rotary Club of Overland Park South has stepped up to create the thread for us to lend a hand.
We are scheduling a one day clean up for June 18th as per Kelly’s note below and this will have to be “an in and out one day” program because of the lack of accommodation in the area. We will use this as a kick off program and will bring other options to the table as we proceed. We are looking at other options including adopt-a-family and more clean up days/weekends.
Please join us to support Kelly on this noble effort and bring your friends and family to make this another Rotary success story.

Hi All,
District 5710 has been invited to help with the Disaster Relief Efforts in Joplin, MO on Saturday June 18th. We are looking for at least 100 people to join us in duties related to clean-up. We have been asked to bring items such as rakes, chainsaws, shovels, wheel barrows, gloves and any other tools that may be handy for this project.
The IgniteChurch.TV is expecting us to arrive at 8am at 710 S. Maiden Lane, Joplin MO when they will send the first crew out. The trip is a solid 2-2.5 hours from Overland Park/Lawrence. Be prepared to work all day long. We will stop our efforts around dinner time. You will need to bring your own coolers with refreshments and sun screen etc. for the day. Others outside of the district are welcome to attend (could use grown teenagers that can handle equipment/tools responsibly, but probably not young children). The community of Joplin needs our help, and I am so proud that our district has stepped up to contribute at this level.
