Manhattan Rotary Club last week honored Courtney Faucett and Mason Quintanar as the Manhattan High School students of the Month for May.  The recognition is given each month to outstanding students for their leadership, academic performance, and community service.

Courtney is the daughter of Susan Arnett and Richard Faucett. She has been a Kansas Honor Scholar, Kansas ACT Scholar, and the AP Scholar with Distinction. She is active in the Marching Band, Fellowship of Christian Athletics, National Honor Society, Cross Country, Bowling and Swimming. In the community, Courtney has been a volunteer for the Church Children’s Ministry, Mission trips, Vacation Bible Schools, and she is active in the high school musical pit orchestra and the MHS basketball Pep Band.

Mason is the son of Michael Quintanar and Cheri Wickham.  He is the treasurer of the Spanish club and a Kansas State Scholar. His extra-curricular activities include MHS soccer and Eagle Scout Troop 74.  His Eagle Scout service project was at Amanda Arnold Elementary school.

Each student made a presentation to the Club on their high school experience, areas of interest, and their plans for the future, which included joining Kansas State University for both of them.
Mark Queen, the Club president, presented each student with a certificate and a medal for this recognition.
