Jamie Smidt - Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar update

My name is Jamie Smidt, a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar from District 5710. I was awarded the scholarship in March 2009, and spent 2011 studying agricultural economics in Santiago, Chile. I presented to the Manhattan rotary club in July 2011, half-way through my scholarship year. 

I intended to send the first report to you about 6 months ago, but my studies and volunteer work kept me quite busy. I am now home and finalizing my scholarship responsibilities.

I cannot give enough thanks to you, and the other Rotarians of District 5710, for your support of this scholarship. It was an honor and a privilege to represent Rotary in Chile. I look forward to discussing my scholarship year with local clubs. I'll be back to speak to your club on April 12, 2012.
