Group Study Exchange Announcement for Rotarians

In 2011-12 the Group Study Exchange will be with Rotary District 1380 in Finland. As you know, Group Study Exchange is funded by your contributions to the Rotary Foundation and provides a month-long expense-paid visit to another country for a Rotarian team leader and four team members.

The outgoing visit to Finland will take place from March 16 to April 16, 2012.

We are seeking applications for team leader for this exciting exchange. Please consider applying yourself and please inform your Rotary colleagues of this unique opportunity. Applications for team leader AND team members are due July 31, 2011. Applications may be found at the Rotary International web site (www.rotary.org) and on the District 5710 website (www.rotary5710.org.). The team leader will be a Rotarian selected by interview with the GSE Committee. As with the team members, expenses of the team leader are paid by Rotary and Rotarians and the team leader will stay with Rotarians during the visit. It is a unique opportunity to experience the life and culture of another country.

We are also seeking applications for team members for the exchange. Team members are non-Rotarians between 25 and 40 who have worked for two years in their chosen profession and live or work in District 5710. The program offers an opportunity to develop skills in leadership, team building, and problem solving, as well as to increase international experience and understanding. Team member applications are also due July 31st. Although this year the incoming team from Australia was a Vocational Training Team (VTT), the exchange with Finland will be a traditional GSE, so applicants from all vocations are welcome.
