FLASH MOB IN READING, KANSAS - EXTREME MEETING-UP!
TO: ALL
MEMBERS OF DISTRICT
FROM:
DG JOHN VANDEWALLE
FLASH MOB IN READING, KANSAS - EXTREME
MEETING-UP!
WHEN: NOVEMBER 12
District 5710
is stepping up! Rotarians KELLY WOLFERT and JONI PFLUMM decided to be leaders
in the community again! On NOVEMBER 12, district members will hold a FLASH MOB
- EXTREME MEETING MAKE-UP to help out Reading, Kansas with tornado damage
clean-up.
After success
in Joplin, Kelly and Joni felt the need to help in tornado torn Reading, Kansas
which is within our district boundaries, about an hour and 45 minutes drive
from Olathe - even closer for clubs in the Topeka area! The population of
Reading is 250 with 101 homes - 54 of the homes were completely demolished by
the tornado and all homes have some sort of damage.
There is a
large piece of property in Reading with large trees that were severely damaged
creating the opportunity for us to pay-it-forward.
The immediate
need is for those of you who have chain saws, log splitters, trucks etc (or
like me {DG John} can do whatever I'm told to do) to dedicate a day to Reading.
We will cut
down trees, split the wood and sell the firewood in the Kansas City Metro (pre
orders are welcome)--all proceeds going back to the community of Reading.
SO COME ALONG
TO HELP WITH CUTTING, LIFTING, LOADING, SERVING COFFEE, COOKING, PLAYING THE
BANJO OR WHATEVER.
We want you
to invite anyone to enjoy this Rotary experience and let's see if we can have a
district record turnout that will WOW Reading.
