Hello Rotarians!
I got things going with a 26-slide presentation that highlighted as much of the 2024-25 year that we could. We had 3 Rotary Awards to Shelley Carver, Mike Heylin, Steven Graham and Dr. Roger Reitz.
This week I and Jim Lindquist are in France with the KSU Alumni Association. I plan to be back next week to round out the Rotary Year.
On Wednesday of last week, I hosted an Appreciation Dinner for the current and incoming Board members at the Country Club Pineview room for 18 total guests. This will become an annual tradition to recognize the volunteer efforts of these Rotarians. Thanks to all who have served this year.

We had our Year-End Review and Awards ceremony last week, and were fortunate to have our own esteemed member C. Clyde Jones in person to present the Rotarian of the Year award. He looked great and has a very cool app on his phone that transcribed what people say, so he can 'hear' us all. Thanks to Robbin Cole for tending to him to make it to the meeting. He gave a spirited introduction that kept us in suspense to find out the winner!

We also had a Board Meeting right afterward, and were able to approve a new application for Edwin Olson and transfer for Christine Benne, who joins us (finally) from the Konza Club. We'll be formally welcoming 1-2 of our new members this Thursday and in weeks to come.
Our impromptu greeters were Steven Graham and Jim Linquist. Dr. Roger Reitz accompanied us singing 'My Country Tis of Thee'.
A guests were Marilyn Bullock and Sue Bullock Garver (Paul Bullock), Ms. Sammy Gleason (Steven Graham), and Mark Wilkins (Gary Clark). Marilyn and Sue were surprise guests for Paul!
Please continue to invite guests. They're the best source of new members to the Club.

In our weekly attendance raffle last week, Gary Stemple was the winner of a Free Lunch at an upcoming meeting.
June's theme is Rotary Fellowships, and our CUP Money goes to the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging & Disability Services. They are dedicated to serving senior citizens and their families in Kansas to make informed choices about their lives and access community-based long-term services and support.

To mark Roger's 50th anniversary, the Club has donated $100 to the Rotary Foundation. He spoke of how much he's been able to do in Rotary and how it brings out the best in people. He encouraged Members to be proud of the things we do.

We recognized 16 new members this year, which brought our year-end ranks to 161. I showed the various service projects we worked on, our KSU Rotaract club, the Youth Service awards, and touched on some of the more notable programs presented and the area groups that benefit from Rotarians support. I showed 5 slides that recapped what was New for 2024-25 including our attendance incentive, Visitors' Day, Proud Papa's speakers, Greeter introductions, Pocket change for Polio+, the Mental Health Task Force, and the upcoming Friendship Exchange with South African Rotarians. It really was a busy year, and I'm proud of all the goals we met. Thanks!
The long-anticipated announcement was then made by C. Clyde Jones of this year's recipient is Dr. Paul Bullock, who's been a member of MRC over 52 years. Paul's service was applauded and his wife and daughter were on hand to celebrate with him. Congratulations.

We ended the program with a symbolic passing of the President's gavel to Chris Culbertson, who will start his 2025-2026 term July 1st, and some special recognitions and thanks to those that make each week and each project happen.
