Greetings Rotarians,

Your club was well represented at District 5710's Leadership Seminar last Saturday in Topeka.  President-elect Betty Stevens, Vice President Vernon Turner, Secretary George Ham, Kevin Ingram and myself were all in attendance. Kevin Ingram presented a session on Ethics In Leadership and,as always, was outstanding.  Vernon led 2 sessions on Rotary Leadership Institute.  It was nice to see our club so well represented and for 2 of our members to be presenters at the conference.  We brought back plenty of new ideas and strategies the board and I will be considering to ensure our club is vibrant and well positioned for the future.

Speaking of our club's future, I'm happy to announce Chris Nolte has agreed to serve on our board of directors to complete the remaining one year term for Tony English.  Tony has requested a leave of absence due to travel demands at work.  Chris is a great addition to our board in addition to serving as the club's PR Chair.  Thank you Chris for your willingness to serve.   As I mentioned at last week's meeting, we are in need of a club photographer as Larry Bowers has expressed an interest in being relieved of this responsibility.  I'm hoping one or two members will step forward and volunteer.  If not, I will seek you out and find you!!  I spoke with Keith Westervelt last week and he is working on getting club socials started again.  If any club member would like to host a club social at your place of business, Keith would love to hear from you.  These events are always well attended and have become a favorite activity for many of our members.

Eric Higgins and the Speakers Committee continue to provide outstanding topics and speakers.  This week we will hear from Secretary Mike King of the Kansas Department of Transportation and Secretary Jackie McClaskey of the Kansas Department of Agriculture. I hope to see you at lunch this Thursday!
