Fellow Rotarians,

This week has an international feel to it as we will spend time with several visiting Rotarians from outside the US.  Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a gathering hosted by C. Clyde Jones.  Suzan Stenberg, incoming District Governor for District 2330 in Sweden was in town visiting C. Clyde and Midge.  Suzan was our club's first Rotary Youth Exchange student in 1983-84 and stayed with C. Clyde & Midge.  Suzan, along with her husband Goran, have been in San Diego for DG training.  On their return trip to Sweden, they diverted to Manhattan for a brief visit.  This Wednesday evening our club, along with the Konza Club, will have a social at the Lazy T Ranch hosted by Ron & Chris Wilson.   This will be an opportunity to meet the visiting Vocational Training Team from Panama.  We will also welcome and hear from them briefly at this week's club meeting.  Thanks to Sue Maes who has coordinated the team's visit to Manhattan and to the Wilson's for hosting the social event.

A special thanks to President-Elect Betty Stevens for filling in for me last week as I was out of town.  This week, in addition to a brief presentation from the visiting Vocational Training Team, our program will feature City Manager Ron Fehr.  We will also welcome District Governor Debra Rodenbaugh-Schaub who will visit our club to introduce our guests from Panama.  It will be a full agenda, so please plan to attend and arrive early.

I hope to see you this week for lunch!

Scott Emley
