Greetings Rotarians,

A big thank you to President-Elect Betty Stevens for presiding at our meeting last week while I was out of town.  Not only did she get to preside at our regular meeting, she also presided at the October board meeting.  I'm certain it was one of the more productive board meetings since July!

Last week our club welcomed new member Steve Lambert who was introduced by Pastor Troy Bowers.  We also recognized our newest Paul Harris Fellow in Mark Queen.  Please welcome and introduce yourself to Steve if you haven't already done so and congratulations to Mark.

The following is the content of an email I received from Trish Reedy of the Rotary Club of Overland Park.  Her club has initiated a project that will raise funds for End Polio Now.  If you have an interest in purchasing a Royals inspired Rotary shirt, you only have a few days left to do so.  You can purchase by using the link provided.  Be sure to include your club and district number when purchasing your shirt.

Friends, would you be willing to share this with all the members of your club and any other Rotarians you know? While my club initiated this project - all the funds go to End Polio Now in our district. After attending the Young Professionals Summit in Chicago, we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to share their Rotary pride in a fun way. Please let me know if you have any questions. We have to sell 50 shirts, or else they don't get printed - and we only have 12 more days to do it!

Turn Royals Spirit into Rotary Spirit!

Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a limited edition Royals-inspired Rotary t-shirt. Short-sleeve or long-sleeve, Royal blue for only $20! You must act quickly because you only can buy for 12 more days!

We all love our Rotary club and now it is time to show it! Wear your Rotary pride around town, at the ballpark, or to your projects. Proceeds will benefit End Polio Now in the name of our district, and will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Be sure to note which district/club you belong to in the COMMENTS section when you purchase so funds can be sent appropriately.

Go to https://www.booster.com/letsgorotary and buy your t-shirt now!

Please let me know if you have any questions, and Go Royals! Go Rotary!

This week we will welcome MHS Students of The Month for October.  Our program will be Toree Pederson and Tyler Nottberg with the Alliance for Childhood Education, a nonpartisan coalition of business leaders in support of early childhood education in Kansas and Missouri.   I hope to see you this Thursday for lunch.
