My Fellow Rotarian;

Hello my friends!  I hope you all had a safe and happy Memorial Day.  We can never forget the sacrifices of those who proudly served and gave it their all so we say we are the home of the free and land of the brave!

Last week we heard Emily Brueske from the College of Business talk to us on the Mentoring program and it was impressive to see how many of you are serving as Mentors.  My one takeaway was that while the students in the program breakdown pretty much 50/50, Mentors are decidedly male so she is in need of professional women to volunteer as a Mentor.   Great program!

As we complete this Rotarian year it still isn’t too late to consider making a gift to the Rotary Foundation.  Many of you have stepped up and I do appreciate your gift.

President-elect Scott Emily is working on committee assignments and will be contacting you to see of your interest.   I would encourage you though to reach out to Scott or one of the board members to indicate where you would want to get involved.  Also please share ideas you may have with Scott or I to make your experience and involvement better!

Coming up this month is Juneteenth.  Dave Denning is asking for volunteers for that event to either walk in the parade or serve ice cream.   If we have a good sign up it will only be an hour or two out of your day.  It is a fun rewarding event.

This Thursday we are delighted to have fellow Rotarian and past president Sue Maes presenting her topic on the change from DCE to K-State Global Campus.

See you for lunch this Thursday!   Thank you for being a Rotarian!

Dick
