Three international students at Kansas State University have been awarded $500 International Graduate Student Scholarship from the Konza and Manhattan Rotary clubs. This annual scholarship is awarded to graduate students based on academic achievement, the benefit of graduate training to their country and financial need.

The 2014 scholarship recipients are:

  • Nibal Albashabsheh, Jordan, completing a doctorate in industrial engineering
  • Fatmah Al-Qadfan, Kuwait, completing a master's in theatre with an emphasis in drama therapy.
  • Nanxi Li, China, completing a doctorate in mechanical engineering.

Rotary is a global organization of business and professional leaders with six areas of focus including peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, literacy and economic development. Collectively, Rotarians tackle humanitarian problems, among them the worldwide eradication of polio. The International Graduate Student Scholarship is one way the local clubs advance goodwill, international understanding and peace.
